Lead. Empower. Achieve. Discover.

In 2007, Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee established the L.E.A.D. Program, which was designed to give an authentic Girl Scout troop experience to girls who come from lower socioeconomic backgrounds and high-risk urban and rural communities. The L.E.A.D. Girl Scouts are connected with school staff, community professionals, and college students to act as committed, highly motivated leaders and mentors. Girls join through schools, community centers, and churches and participate in a 12-week Girl Scout program during the school year. The girls experience the traditions of Girl Scouting as well as learn about practical life skills, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) programming, outdoor adventures, entrepreneurship, and more.
